Case Study Project comprises of the construction of a purpose built classroom building to expand the teaching facilities at St Martin's School in Hutton, Essex. This incorporated piled foundations and brickwork 'sleeper walls' to regulate the significant difference in existing ground levels. The External envelope consisted of cavity brickwork to low level with a large steel frame clad with insulated metsec structural framing, Reyners windows, curtain walling, Fundermax external cladding and a bespoke Brise Soleil system.
The new flat roof incorporates a Langley roofing system in conjunction with bespoke roof lights above the central corridor areas to add natural light to the circulation areas. It was also necessary for a fully waterproofed basement to be constructed adjacent to the link extension to house the Mechanical and electrical services.
