Large scale extension and refurbishment to an existing store situated to the rear of the High Street in Hadleigh. The existing store was situated in a very sensitive conservation area.
Traditional foundations, steel frame, precast floors, masonry and handmade clay plain tiles and insulated decking provided the building's envelope over 2 floors.
The works also included phased and extensive highways works, a new puffin crossing and street lighting. A new toilet block was also erected in the adjacent public car park as part of the scheme. The envelope included a zinc roof and ceramic tiled cladding.
An added challenge was the requirement to keep the public thoroughfare open throughout the contract, which we successfully achieved. We also met the brief by keeping the store open without interruption throughout this complicated project.
