This Case Study project in Theydon Bois, Epping comprised of the removal of an existing external swimming pool and formation of a new indoor pool building. The new pool was constructed of reinforced concrete and was situated close to the boundary and required due care and skill to ensure no disturbance to the neighbouring property.
An added engineering challenge included the close proximity of a neighbour's swimming pool close to the boundary, it was neccessary to provide sufficient support to the boundary by installation of a contiguous piled wall before excavating the pool area. A steel frame and masonry pool enclosure was constructed including a large feature rooflight to the pool area and the pool building also incorporated a jacuzzi, changing room and sauna.
A large orangery wrapped around the rear of the property which incorporated a new single ply flat roof with a large balcony. An extensive refurbishment was also carried out inside the building as well as a new piled cartlodge externally as well as extensive landscaping and external works to compliment the character of the existing property.
