Case study project comprises of the new build construction of a modern community centre building for combined use of two churches on a land-locked area of monastery land on Windhill in Bishops Stortford. This logistically challenging construction project required regular liaison with surrounding landowners in conjunction with the employment of a large tower crane to gain safe, regular access for the build.
The building itself comprises of a very modern and innovative design incorporating a Speedeck standing seam roof incorporating multiple pitches and passive vent terminals. The external envelope incorporates a modern mix of Comar curtain walling, cedar cladding, coloured render and natural Stamford stone, which is complemented by travertine paving to the surrounding paths.
