This case study comprises of the first new build public house venture in Colchester for the McMullen & Sons brewery company. We were accordingly appointed to deliver a highly bespoke and prestigeous public house/restaurant at the latest and highly anticipated Stane Park Leisure Quarter, which shall feature amongst many other new restaurants as part of a 20 acre development project on behalf of Churchmanor Estates.
Despite a number of time sensitive planning issues and highly bespoke design changes, our construction team has been successful in implementing an accellerated work programme in order to provide our client with beneficial occupation of the building in time for Christmas 2017 allowing a booming Christmas trade to be enjoyed by our client well ahead of their competitors adjacent development projects.
The building comprises of a steel frame construction with a designed roof truss arrangement, which later received hand made clay roof tiles and cavity wall construction complimented by Sto render and cedar cladding to the external envelope.
The internal fit-out underwent a number of bespoke enhancements during the construction phase including, but not limited to highly bespoke joinery, integrated fixtures and fittings in conjunction with premium quality wall finishes to enhance our clients original design brief.
Since construction, the new pub restaurant is reported to have been very well received by the public and the new building leads the way for a number of other retail and restaurant developments that are currently in progress at the Stane Park site.
