Maternity Unit Expansion and Relocation & Refurbishment of Gynaecology Unit, Colchester

This project comprised of two phases. The first phase being the construction of a new brick built extension to form the new Gynaecology unit with reinforced ring beam foundations, steel frame, brick and block infill with Kawneer windows and doors. There was a ruberoid roof covering over insulation laid on pre-cast roof slabs.

A full internal fit out including full mechanical and electrical installation, plumbing of medical gases and the installation of designated air handling units.

The second phase of works incorporated the extensive refurbishment of the existing maternity unit to include new consultation areas with upgrades mechanical and electrical installations, the extension provided the hospital with additional birthing space following completion of the project.

Following completion of both extensions we completed the project with the construction of external pathways and a fire engine spec. access road.

The above works were all constructed in a partially live working healthcare environment with no disruption to the clients daily operations.
