Case Study project comprised of the re-modelling and comprehensive refurbishment of the hospital's Isolation Ward area to provide a modern look, new air conditioning services and an assortment of specialist equipment for a very busy and important area of the hospital.
The project was completed within a very restricted area of the hospital building with a high volume of foot traffic on all sides of the work area. It was neccessary for a marshall to be employed at various times of the project to manage the inherent security and safety risks of unauthorised access during heavy demolition activities etc. We also ensured a well co-ordinated approach for deliveries and waste extraction outside of peak activity periods which were co-ordinated closely with the hospital management staff.
The new Isolation Ward received new flooring and hygienic wall cladding throughout, in conjunction with specialist hygienic internal doors and protection rails. A highly specialist lighting system was also integrated into the ward, which featured self diagnostic software to ensure uninterupted services to the hospital once occupied. A number of treatment rooms were created alongside a Nurses Standpoint and Staff Tea Point. We also co-ordinated the installation of medical gas services to the refurbished ward in conjunction with a specialist contractor.
